Which EUR rate is which?

Different numbers answer different questions. Only an offer from a BDC is a rate you can hold someone to.

How to read the CBN’s rates

The CBN publishes three rates for each currency every business day.

CBN central
The middle of the three. It’s the one we chart and alert on, and the one the calculator uses unless you choose another.
CBN buying
The CBN’s published buying rate for euros, a little under central.
CBN selling
The CBN’s published selling rate for euros, a little over central.

“Buying” and “selling” here are the CBN’s side, not yours. None of the three is a price you can get: each BDC sets its own rates, usually above these when it sells to you and below them when it buys from you. Amounts above $500 that you sell to a BDC are paid into your bank account.
