A guide only — not an offer. A licensed BDC’s rate for you depends on the amount, the branch and the day. Naira figures are rounded to the naira; foreign amounts round down to the cent.
Which AED rate is which?
Different numbers answer different questions. Only an offer from a BDC is a rate you can hold someone to.
| Rate | Naira per AED 1 | Updated | Can you get this rate? |
|---|---|---|---|
Official referenceCBN central rate | ₦366.38 | No — it’s a reference, not a price | |
OfferAn offer to you | When requests open in your city | Held until the time the BDC sets | Yes — until its hold time ends |
How to read the CBN’s rates
The CBN publishes three rates for each currency every business day.
- CBN central
- The middle of the three. It’s the one we chart and alert on, and the one the calculator uses unless you choose another.
- CBN buying
- The CBN’s published buying rate for UAE dirhams, a little under central.
- CBN selling
- The CBN’s published selling rate for UAE dirhams, a little over central.
“Buying” and “selling” here are the CBN’s side, not yours. None of the three is a price you can get: each BDC sets its own rates, usually above these when it sells to you and below them when it buys from you. Amounts above $500 that you sell to a BDC are paid into your bank account.
